Toyota Recall - Important Information

Toyota has been in the news a lot lately regarding two specific recalls.  One for replacing floor mats and then a voluntary recall regarding potentially sticking accelerator pedals.  I am sure that our loyal Toyota customers are concerned about getting their vehicles repaired.  Regarding these recalls, Toyota will be sending out notices on affected vehicles, as soon as they concretely define a fast and effective repair solution.  They are starting with the Camry and then will be working their way through the rest of the affected models.  Regarding the acceleration issue, Toyota has not yet notified us on the specifics of this repair solution.  Since we are aware that this recall affects a lot of our customers, we will be adding additional staff and extending our hours in order to meet the needed demands.  We are also aware that many of our loyal customers are frustrated regarding these publicly announced issues.  We want to get across to each of you that all of our service employees have been fully trained to answer all of your questions regarding these and any other recall topics.  When we receive more information regarding these recalls from the manufacturer, we will post that specific information on this site.  Please be advised that even with additional on site staff to answer the phones, the number of calls being received is quite overwhelming.  In addition to calling, you may contact us by email; please send inquiries to lyoder@brownautos.com.  You may also contact Toyota Motor Corp USA direct at 800-331-4331 or visit their website at Toyota.com for updated information.

Brown has proudly represented Toyota for over 20 years and we are doing everything possible to communicate the manufacturer’s message to you in a timely and effective fashion.

Recall information and what we know to be a fact:

  • Toyota is working diligently to develop a repair solution for both stated recalls at this time.  When Toyota notifies us of the specifics of both repair solutions, we will post their findings on this site.
  • Toyota will directly notify owners of affected vehicles by mail.  Once customers are notified by mail, the customer will then be able to set up an appointment to repair the vehicle.
  • If you experience unexpected acceleration, safely pull off to the side of the road and do not drive the vehicle any further. Please call Brown Toyota at 434-977-3380 and we will come and pick up your vehicle
  • Please be advised that not all Toyotas are affected by these recalls, in fact many are not and are available for purchase. Toyota has always had an outstanding reputation for quality and safety.  Please contact a Brown Automotive sales consultant for more information.

We will be in touch with more information as soon as we get it.
